2023 Season Coming At’cha!

Soon, so very soon, we’ll all be sweating our collective booties off at our beloved, mole hill laden Pier Park!

While you’re trembling in anticipation of the upcoming Opening Day, remember you can shed some of the preseason willies at the annual Jamboree on Saturday, May 20th. Casual pickup game(s) begin at 1PM on Pier 2.

Dear Fun League and friends, our beloved commissioner Rand Phillips-Netherton recently suffered a scooter accident resulting in a torn tendon, medical expenses, and time missed from work as she recovers from the incident. Let’s show our community support for the woman who makes all of our Saturday Softball fun possible!

Perhaps it’s no surprise…

The weather is having its way with us again today, marking the 3rd total rainout in a row! Thanks to the noon teams for showing up and giving it a try.

With that, the schedule has been completely rewritten, round robin style. If we have no more rainouts, this saves us from a bunch of ties in the standings. See the new schedule here or on the calendar page.

Even with these short breaks in rain, our fields at Pier have been completely unplayable.

Rules Update Posted!

Our special rules have been updated/ clarified and posted to the League Rules page.

While this is admittedly not the most glamourous announcement, the updates were both important and overdue, and I hope you all take a moment to look them over so you know what to expect for the season to come.

Notable edits include language promoting more gender inclusivity, changes to the veto and mercy rules, and clarifications regarding game length/time.

Help Larry cover softball-related emergency costs

As many of you may know, our good pal Kelsey (Larry) collided with another player during a game on July 31st, causing her to be taken to the ER by ambulance for further scanning/evaluation.

We have started a gofundme to help cover the cost of this injury. The goal amount may be changed to reflect any relevant medical bills incurred after this effort goes live.

Playoffs!

Here it is, your 2021 Playoff Schedule, hot off the… app? Winners of the noon games will face the #1 seeds from their conferences at 2 pm, while noon game losers will battle to be the best of the worst, our beloved Chumps, at 4 pm. Winners of the 2 pm games will face off in the Championship game on 8/14.
